How I'll Be Ringing In The New Year!!

If there is one thing I love more than going out, it would be staying in! I am a homebody by nature but I still love a good night on the town. Just when the rest of the world won't be out as well! For NYE, I prefer a quiet night in where I pamper myself and relax after a long week. Here's what I'll be doing to ring in the new year!

1. I'll dress to impress my bed! A comfy sweater, leggings, and fuzzy socks are a staple for me during the colder months!

2. Every year I tell myself that I'll stay up and watch the countdown; which rarely happens. Usually it's Netflix for me, but this years I'm in the middle of re-watching the Harry Potter movies so I'll be spending my night with the Weasleys!

3. I'll use tonight as a good pamper evening! Complete with a bath, body scrub, and a heavy duty skincare routine!
(If you would like to see that routine, let me know in the comments below!!)

4. Lastly, the night wouldn't be complete without a hot drink! Cocoa, tea, or coffee, anything will work, just something to make you feel cozy while you snuggle under a duvet and ring in the new year!

That's what I'll be doing to ring in 2016, what are you guys up to?! Let me know in the comments below!

My Current Obsessions #1

As time goes by, the things I find myself fascinated with tend to change. Personally, I find something to obsess over and I fully immerse myself in it until something else comes along. Last year it was the walking dead. Right now, it's Doctor Who. I call it, The Never Ending Cycle of Being A Fangirl, or NECBAF for short. Personally I love finding new obsessions to indulge in but also finding out what other people are liking as well! So here's a little look into my Fangirl brain and what I've been liking lately!

1. As stated above, I have been completely obsessed with Doctor Who. I am very late to the party but I always try to not be one of those people who is into something while everyone else is too. Bandwagon, if you will. I randomly decided it was time to give it a go and started with the new revamped series. I was halfway through the first episode and wasn't sure if I could get on board with it. Enter: Christopher Eccleston and that damn smile that Nine gives Rose at the end of the first episode. I WAS HOOKED.

I mean LOOK AT THIS!!!

2. My biggest celebrity crush is probably Domhnall Gleeson. I first saw him in the last two installments of the Harry Potter series portraying Bill Weasley. Yesterday, I rented About Time, which he stars in alongside Rachel McAdams. I watched it then ran out to buy the DVD copy of it. He was charming but also adorably awkward. I have watched it 3 times since then and have no shame. In all honesty, Richard Curtis made another incredible film. He cannot be beat.

3. Lately, I have been taken with not feeling well for most of my day. This had made me want to make my room a bit more cozy for when I get home from work!  I have added a ridiculous amount of twinkly lights and cozy blankets and it feels like a sanctuary. It makes a load of difference when you are feeling poorly to come home to a nice space!
4. The weather is finally starting to cool down and our days are getting shorter. THIS IS MY FAVORITE TIME OF YEAR!! I absolutely adore cooler weather and shorter days. I cant tell you why, it just makes me so happy!

5. Lastly, I have fallen in love with Giovanna Fletcher. She is a London based writer, who is married to my favorite McFly guys, Tom Fletcher. Late last year I purchased Billy and Me on my kindle and finished it within the day. IT WAS PHENOMENAL. She wrote beautifully and spoke straight to my heart. I found an online book seller and purchased all 3 of her books in paperback form and I cant wait to finish them all!

I am going to stop talking now, because I think i have gone on long enough!
What have you been obsessing over lately? Let me know in the comments below!

Why I Love Harry Potter

I have vivid memories of being lost after my parents told me they were getting a divorce. I was 10 and I didn't understand why. I was sad and completely unaware of the effect it was having on me. One day I picked up the first Harry Potter while at the library and decide to give it a go. I completely lost myself in the books. I read one after another until there weren't anymore for me to read. I found a new world to get lost in while mine was crumbling around me. The story was vivid and you could imagine everything that was happening. I took that series with me while I moved halfway across the country and back. I took it with me while I started new schools and braved making new friends. After telling my grandfather about my love for the series he went on to tell me that he loved them just as much. He took me and my sister to see every single movie. It was our thing. As I get older and I re-watch or re-read the series, I think of him. I see Harry Potter as my very own Deluminator, for it shows me the light in even the darkest of times. Not only were these books that for me, but so was my grandfather.

August Favorites

Seeing as the month of August is officially over (and september has already started:), I figured my first post should be a monthly favorites! So here it goes:
1. Makeup: my favorite makeup product this month is a new discovery. It's the NYX Matte Lip Cream in Prague. The color is right up my alley but is also long-lasting! I want all the other colors in the range!

2. Skin Care: I have recently been getting into skin care because I know my skin will thank me later! Right now my favorite thing is water. Drinking water does loads of great things for you skin and body!

3. Hair: I'm loving the original It's A 10 leave in conditioner. I swear by it!

4. TV: I have been watching Girl Meets World on Disney Channel because I was obsessed with Boy Meets World and it is absolutely adorable! I don't care that I'm a grown woman watching Disney channel, it's great!

5. Film: I haven't seen any new movies this month, which is shocking for me!

6. Book: For about 3 months I have promised my best friend she could borrow my copy of Amy Poehler's book Yes Please. I always forget to grab it on my way out to meet her and so now I've started reading it myself! She's an amazing writer, but also an amazing woman. I wish I was half as funny as she is!

7. Person: I found out that my step dad's aunt passed away earlier this month. She was a kind, funny, beautiful and intelligent woman. Cancer took her too soon from us but we are all glad she no longer has to suffer. She is by far my favorite person this month.

8. Quote: This isn't a quote but it is a word, L'appel du Vide. Translated from French it literally means "The Call of the Void." It's used to describe the instinctive urge to jump from high places. There isn't a word in the English language that means the same thing and I am absolutely obsessed with it.

9. What I'm most looking forward to next month: I turn 21 next month and I am pretty excited, it's a bit weird because I feel like a 35-year-old woman but still very exciting!

These are my August Favorites! Let me know in the comments below what some of yours are!
